The ball bearing rollers on the Chrome Total Trainers are considerably harder and more durable than the TPU90 AE rollers. Likewise, chrome is a harder more durable surface than paint. To be compatible, the rollers and the surface they roll on must have the same consistency of hardness. This is why the DLX II, DLX III and the DLX III Leather are chrome plated.
