Some of the most beneficial lower body exercises possible are the leg press and the hack squat. Unfortunately these exercises are often the most difficult to perform without injury or spotters. A stand-alone machine such as the EF-7616 that can conveniently accomplish both exercises can rectify this problem. The 11 gauge steel frame is securely bolted in all tension points and topped by thick rubber end caps bolted to the base. The sliding mechanism of the chrome guide rods also create a sturdy yet smooth and even movement while the thick padding on each portion provides comfort during strenuous routines. The molded grips for hand placement in both leg presses and hack squats are ergonomically shaped and just the right thickness for most hand sizes both in and out of gloves.

While function and stability are certainly paramount in such a detailed piece of fitness equipment, the convenience and benefits offered by the exercises performed on the EF-7616 have also been carefully considered in the construction. When performing leg presses, you sit comfortably on the narrow, tapered base and place your back against the ergonomic removable backrest. Your feet are placed against the flip up footboard, which is secured in 4 settings with an oversized pop pin. Leg presses done in this low stress environment provide the full leg, hip and backside workouts expected without the damage to the lower body joints that can occur when using free weights. This can aid in rehabilitating the legs and lower torso as well as providing a solid base for general health, sports specific needs and a more streamlined physical appearance.

In addition to leg presses, the EF-7616 also offers hack squat capabilities. Hack squats are differentiated from other squat types by the location of the weight being pressed. In hack squats, the weight is placed behind the user’s legs, which creates great stress on the shoulders and lower back when performed with free weights rather than a machine such as the EF-7616. By using the EF-7616 with rear weight posts to perform the exercise instead, the benefits for the quads are increased beyond that offered by other squat types. The EF-7616 also offers safety lockouts that can be used to avoid a weight drop when squatting to exhaustion. The dual shoulder braces, headrest and back pad are all thickly padded to avoid any pressure points on the upper body that can be caused if using a bar and weights in high or low position on the neck or upper back while the adjustable squat platform is made overly wide and deep for multiple foot positions and sizes. This allows for focus on various heads of the quads and increases the overall strength of the primary muscle and the corresponding stabilizer muscles.

The feet on EF Products are bolted on instead of the regular 'slide-on' type on other manufacturers' products. Bolted on feet are more durable, less skid resistant (which makes your equipment safer) and stay put so you're not constantly fighting them when moving your equipment.

The cushions were constructed of scrap foam pieces glued together and inferior wood as their bases.

EF Products is proud to announce we use only high quality, hi-density foam and select pieces of 3/4" plywood in our cushions. We also give our customers a whopping 3" of padding versus the normal 2" industry standard making our cushions the most comfortable on the market.
